Alertsite Announces United Kingdom Monitoring Location
Provides Global Perspective of Web Site Performance
Boca Raton, FL - (January 23, 2001) - AlertSite Inc., the premiere Internet device monitoring service used to detect possible hackers, disruption of service and slow response time, today announced the availability of a U.K. based monitoring location for its innovative service that monitors web sites around-the-clock. AlertSite positioned this NEW, redundant location so that global E-commerce web sites can continually monitor and refine the performance of their sites, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction.
"Global businesses deserve a global perspective of their web sites' performance. This station allows our European customers the opportunity to gauge performance from a location closer to home," said Ken Gross, president of AlertSite. "Any global company that depends upon a web site for business should harness the power of AlertSite to continually monitor and refine site performance."
The addition of the UK location allows European companies the ability to utilize AlertSite's exclusive "MultiPOP" technology. Each location operates independently and reports results to a central database. Diverse geographic monitoring provides customers with a redundant and consistent "bird's eye" view of how the Internet sees their E-commerce presence. Before alerting users of a problem, the "MultiPOP" system verifies the error with one or more stations so that users are notified only for problems that a company has control over and not for isolated Internet outages. Therefore, both European and non-European based organizations benefit from this United Kingdom location.
"It is key to Honda to view the world from the customers' point of view," said Andy Smith, systems development manager of Honda U.K. "AlertSite ensures that monitoring is performed externally, via the Internet - in exactly the same way as our customers access our web site. We prefer to monitor from the U.K. rather than the U.S. because our web site customers are largely U.K.-based. This local monitoring gives Honda a truer picture of the service we are providing."
Other features and benefits of AlertSite include "Fullpage" monitoring, content verification (to ensure web sites and CGI scripts behave as expected and that pages have not been changed or compromised without prior knowledge), E-mail and pager notifications, DNS lookup, performance tracking (the time it takes to connect to a web site and retrieve a requested page) and diagnostic reporting. Data is collected to measure, assure and improve the quality of E-commerce sites, thereby improving competitiveness and customer satisfaction. Dynamic graphical performance reports complete the picture to show how a site "looks" from a variety of locations worldwide.
MultiPOP monitoring is available for the e-Business, e-Professional and e-Enterprise plans for an additional $19.95 per month per monitoring station. Additional worldwide locations are planned for the near future. Regular monthly service runs $9.95 - $49.95 based on monitoring intervals and features needed. A free trial period is offered to new subscribers. For more information visit www.alertsite.com.
