Employee Spotlight: Dave Wood
Senior Software Engineer David Wood enjoys working at AlertSite. He especially appreciates that his efforts are directly relevant to the bottom line. "You can see tangible results of your hard work," he says. Dave has worked for AlertSite for nearly two years. Previously he was with Seisint, Alamo and Precision Response where he held various positions, including Senior Developer, Project Manager and Director of Development.
For more than a year, David's hard work has been devoted to DéjàClick by AlertSite – there's no question this is David's "baby." The design is principally his.
Working on DéjàClick by AlertSite presented some difficult challenges for David. He says the toughest was balancing the ease of use with the underlying complexity of the program. DéjàClick by AlertSite is simple and easy to use, but it entailed literally thousands of hours of development.
"Recorders have been done before, but DéjàClick's innovative technology makes it cutting edge," David says. "DéjàClick handles dynamic content—it adapts to changes in a web page without requiring you to re-record," he points out. "During replay, multiple search techniques are used to find the best target elements on a web page. DéjàClick also handles dynamic content such as javascript, new content, rollovers and timing issues."
DéjàClick allows the customer to navigate directly to a single step within a multiple-step transaction. For instance, you can edit just one of those steps without re-recording. Change a password, set a custom event timeout or enable user pause intervals. "It allows for property editing at the step level," David says.
"Everyone is very enthusiastic about DéjàClick by AlertSite. We appreciate all the time and effort David devoted to its development," says CTO Michael Lucente.
David graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Computer Science. He and his wife Jami live in Lake Worth, Fla. with their three daughters.

What's new
New version of ServerAgent released. ServerAgent version 1.7.5 is designed to integrate server performance monitoring into the AlertSite monitoring service. Download the latest version with these new features:
- Improved communication with AlertSite, including simultaneous connection with two different AlertSite monitoring servers.
- The ability to include text output from user-defined scripts increases capabilities and allows you to include more specific error messages.
- Choose to be notified whenever your device reboots.
- Help resolving communication errors with AlertSite has been incorporated into the ServerAgent. Optional debugging output can assist in resolving network problems.
