As more and more business is conducted online, breaches have grown exponentially. Vulnerabilities are continually discovered, and the danger increases dramatically, especially if a web site is not updated on a regular basis. With the acceptance of credit card payments comes the responsibility for managing cardholder data.

The AlertSite Security Vulnerability Scan identifies and resolves over 9,000 known vulnerabilities and is used to certify a company is PCI compliant.

What's new

Enhancements to SLA Compliance reporting: An important enhancement for customers using SLA monitoring plans was recently introduced. The new version of the report displays the number of errors and checks, provides drill down access listing any measurements impacting reported service levels and supports annotation of specific errors.

Upload your company logo to the Control Panel: We introduced this feature a few months ago, never realizing how many customers would want to use it. You can upload your own company logo for display at the top left corner of your AlertSite account in place of the AlertSite logo. To implement, just click the upload company logo folder. Sign up for the Network Notifications Newsletter e-mail list: This newsletter provides advance notification of important network events that AlertSite determines are important. Information is collected from many sources, including major network status pages, network operators' postings, as well as results of testing by AlertSite engineeers. Fordham University Case Study

In 2001 a staff shortage in the Information Technology Services (ITS) department made it difficult to consistently and accurately monitor university systems. Fordham University couldn't afford an expensive solution—the solution they selected needed to be precise, dependable, accurate and cost effective.

According to Jason Benedict, Fordham's Director of Computer Services, "We've worked with a lot of companies for a lot of different reasons, and AlertSite is one of the best. They do everything right the first time, and the value for the services they provide is priceless, particularly for a non-profit organization that cannot afford an expensive solution." Employee Spotlight: John Donnelly

An AlertSite Performance Advisor (PA) works with you on a dedicated basis. Each time you contact us, you will reach the same PA, who is accessible, immediately responsive, is familiar with both your business and your service and will guide you through every facet of your AlertSite experience–from set-up to coordinating all your service needs.

AlertSite PA John Donnelly really enjoys talking to customers and helping them get the most out of our services. John has been with AlertSite for two years, and says, "I have developed so many great relationships with our customers." He thinks of himself as an educator–teaching customers how they can get more out of their services. He recently showed a customer how his company could upgrade his plan to include content verification: not only does the customer know his site is available, but now he also knows the page content is correct. "The customer called me and told me it was exactly what his company needed," says John.

John gets a real sense of satisfaction working toward a resolution. For instance, recently a customer asked a question about a specific feature. John explained to him that he could run an on-demand test. Then he verbally walked him through the procedure. "At AlertSite, we pride ourselves on our superior customer service. I take great satisfaction in hearing a customer say, 'I can't believe how fast you responded.'"

John and his wife Danielle live in Boca Raton, Fla. with their one-year-old son Joey.

Three locations added to Global Monitoring Network

Lots of companies have networks. But not all networks are the same. We've just added three new locations to the AlertSite Global Monitoring Network: Brazil, Ireland and Japan. This brings our total to 24. Listed below are some important reasons why AlertSite's network and services are superior.

Global Monitoring Network >>

Error Verification: customers are only notified about "local" outages. AlertSite's error verification process assures customers are only notified about events specific to their own site or locale. We check all errors with a second monitoring station before raising an alert.

Failover: monitoring continues even if a station goes offline. Monitoring locations are in constant communication with each other. If any one station is offline due to server or network outage, a secondary station kicks in to ensure monitoring and notification continues unabated.

Choice: there are many different variations of monitoring and notification. AlertSite offers a variety of monitoring and notification options, including multiPOP, round-robin, primary, global and global notify.

Dependable: AlertSite employs state-of-the-art servers and software. We use highly optimized Linux servers and software. AlertSite systems run 24x7.

Redundancy: master data center is mirrored. We have a backup data center in Atlanta, Georgia in case of disaster. If our primary center in Florida is out, operations transition to Atlanta with very little interruption in service or support.
