AlertSite In The News

 Focus on Security

AlertSite to Launch Security Vulnerability Scan

With recent high-profile security breaches driving heightened interest in online security, AlertSite adds a remote security vulnerability scan to its product arsenal.

Secure your web sites and servers before intruders attack. AlertSite Security Vulnerability Assessment identifies vulnerabilities real-time, categorizes the risks and then provides recommendations and solutions for improvement. Our powerful, up-to-date and easy-to-use remote security scanner ensures your web sites, servers, routers, firewalls and Internet-connected devices pass the SANS Top 20 Internet Security Vulnerabilities defined by SANS, the FBI and FedCIRC.

The AlertSite Security Vulnerability Scan will launch soon. If you are interested in participating in the FREE customer beta, please contact customercare@alertsite.com.

All we ask in return is your feedback.

Save Daily Email Summaries in Document Manager

Receive Daily Summary in XML Format

Some customers integrate AlertSite statistics into existing internal reporting processes. We recently enhanced the automated monitoring summaries to produce an XML version of the daily, weekly and monthly reports in addition to the regular report.

It is configured in the Manage Account folder.

 *Bonus: Firefox Performance Tuning Tips

Many of us at AlertSite use the Firefox browser. We appreciate many of the features (and perhaps it's a quiet protest against the status quo).

Here are a couple of tips to speed up your browsing experience.

Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. These are the browser configuration settings.

Scroll down and make changes by right-clicking and selecting toggle to the following entries:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true."
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true."

Normally the browser will make one request at a time to a web page. When you enable pipelining, it will make several at once - which can really speed up page loading.

Next, set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 8, so it will make 8 requests at once.

And last, right-click anywhere on the configuration page and select New-> Integer.

Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to 0. This is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
